A delightful John Grey & Sons London ukulele banjo / banjolele with original case.
The badge suggests it’s pre-war, probably 1930s.
It’s in nice condition for its age and comes with the original case also in good condition. I expect this banjolele has been stored for quite some time as it came with remnants of gut string and does not show much wear for an instrument of its age. The case is in nice condition too possibly refurbed at some stage.
The wood is attractive and the resonator has a lovely vintage crackle effect with John Grey & Sons London badge.
Serial Number G 4658 Tuners: 4 Friction tuners
Length: 56 cm Vellum head: 8″ / 21cm
Frets: 17 Scale length: 13″ Soprano
Comes with period capo and gut string remnant which it was strung with when I first bought it.
I think this would be a nice banjolele for someone as a gift or a vintage instrument you can play and display.
