Your chance to buy a vintage guitar with an interesting history to play or display.
A rare example of a South African made Gallotone Wonder acoustic guitar from the late 1950s early 1960s.
This is the model famously played by Jimmy Page in his early days (see photo), and John Lennon learned to play guitar on a Gallotone Champion.
This example is in original unrestored condition with a few minor repairs over the years – the photos will help you assess the condition so please study carefully.
The guitar has a nice vintage look to it and is parlour size. Would make a nice playable display piece.
The floating bridge will be collapsed for transit.
About Gallotone
Gallotone are a South African guitar manufacturer becoming popular in the 1950s due to a Board of Trade ban on the import of American goods into the UK, and even when it was lifted the duties were heavy making Gibson and Fender guitars too expensive for aspiring guitarists. In contrast, guitars made in the Commonwealth and Europe were still affordable.
